Dr. Steve Chan is a Data Scientist and Technologist. He is an inventor with 14 granted international and U.S. patents. He is the author of 92 peer-reviewed book chapters, journal articles, and conference papers, which include 38 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) papers. For 65 of the refereed conference papers, he was first author, and 21 of these received "Best Paper"/"Best Presentation." He is an alumnus of Harvard and MIT and, over the years, he has served as a reviewer for 51 peer-reviewed publications, which include 10 IEEE/IET journals and 7 IEEE conference proceedings; he currently serves as an active reviewer for 14 of these. He remains a dedicated researcher and is always striving to learn and contribute to society-at-large.
His research interests include, among other areas, Information Science; Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning; Sensor Data Management; Big Data Tools, Techniques, and Analytical Methodologies in Parallel and Distributed Architectures; Spatio-Temporal Data Analysis; Complex Data Visualizations; and Decision Engineering.
